NEW WINTER OPENING TIMES!!! PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM SATURDAY 23rd JANUARY 2022 WE WILL BE OPENING FROM 10AM – 12.00PM
We would like to say a big thank you to the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust for giving us a grant of £7500 for our winter supplies project. This has made it possible to run this project again this winter. Without this grant it would be extremely difficult to meet the high level of demand for winter supplies at this time due to the cost of living crisis and the challenges faced by increasing heating costs.
Can you help us raise £5000 to supply much needed warm winter clothes and bedding for the people who come to the Food Drop In for help. We have now launched our Winter Appeal crowdfunder run through our Local Giving page.
As you know our primary focus is food but increasingly people are asking for help with other essentials. With the cost of living and energy crisis many are struggling to heat their homes. Many of the people who come for help are families with children who are really going to struggle in the cold months. Warm clothing and bedding is even more important this winter.
3 years ago we started a winter supplies project and provided things like hats, socks. gloves, scarves, hot water bottles, jackets and coats, thermals and waterproofs. We also started to provide winter weight bedding. Much of this was donated but as Covid took a hold we couldn’t take donations and had to buy instead. This year we have put an appeal out for good quality clean clothing and bedding and already donations have started to come in. However the need is so great that we know we will need to buy clothing and bedding as well.
The crowdfunder can be accessed by either going direct to our Local Giving page and selecting winter appeal or highlighting the link below, right clicking and selecting “go to https local giving….” Thank you for your support.
APPEAL FOR CHRISTMAS GOODIES
Everyone at the Todmorden Food Drop In would like to say a big thank you to all the lovely people and organisations that have supported us in many ways throughout the last few difficult years. We’re still going strong and feeding more people than ever in the current financial climate.
As Christmas will soon be here, we would like to invite donations for the goody bags that we usually give out just before Christmas. Things we would most appreciate are:
Mince pies, Christmas cakes, Christmas puddings, chocolates for adults and/or children, luxury biscuits, tinned ham.
Donations can be left in the usual places; Hebden Bridge Co-op, Morrisons or the entrance foyer to Todmorden Community College.
Thanks, and best wishes to all.
