We provide a food parcel to anyone in need of food, for whatever reason. We don’t take referrals or ask for proof of need. We do have a short interview with people when they do come so we can understand why they need our help. This also helps us apply for more funds. There is a free cafe for people whilst they wait, and we offer hot drinks, sandwiches and biscuits. All in need of food are welcome. We offer a choice of food items including eggs, bread, cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables and a variety of tinned and packet goods. We also offer a choice of a limited range of toiletry items. Each week we host one of a number of external agencies, which offer advice and assistance to our service users on a range of issues such as disability, employment, fuel poverty and benefit claims.
Help and advice – Disability Support Calderdale
Every Saturday we have a different advice agency that comes in to give advice and support to the people who use the Food Drop In. Tom has been a volunteer with us for 9 years and giving advice for 6. He is a familiar face on Saturday mornings and is with us every first and fourth Saturday. This is what Tom has to say:

I have been an Independent Advocate dealing with welfare and housing matters at the Todmorden Food Drop In for 6 years now. Together with my colleagues at Disability Support Calderdale we have been supporting people to get the benefits that they are entitled to, challenge eviction notices and secure other sources of help or assistance. More recently we have been helping people deal with their rising energy bills and challenge the utility companies if necessary. Everything that we do is confidential. So if you believe we can help you out, please get in touch. Just phone us on 07944 511716 or call in on a Saturday morning if you’re registered with the Food Drop In.
Tod Support

Tod support is one of the advice agencies that comes to the Food Drop In once a month.
They distribute funds from 2 charities to help people in need who live in Todmorden. We are at the Food Drop In on the third Saturday of every month.
Come and talk to us if you have a problem. You don’t need an appointment. You can also contact us on 0782 3956161 or email info@todsupport.org.uk.
“As a previous volunteer at the Todmorden Food Drop In, I can not stress enough the difference this service makes to the lives of those who need it. It’s so much more than just somewhere people can go to get food. It is a warm and friendly environment, where people feel safe and supported when they need a little bit of extra help. What an asset to the community”
