We provide a food parcel to anyone in need of food, for whatever reason. We don’t take referrals or ask for proof of need. We do have a short interview with people when they do come so we can understand why they need our help. This also helps us apply for more funds. There is a free cafe for people whilst they wait, and we offer hot drinks, sandwiches and biscuits. All in need of food are welcome. We offer a choice of food items including eggs, bread, cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables and a variety of tinned and packet goods. We also offer a choice of a limited range of toiletry items. Each week we host one of a number of external agencies, which offer advice and assistance to our service users on a range of issues such as disability, employment, fuel poverty and benefit claims.
“As a previous volunteer at the Todmorden Food Drop In, I can not stress enough the difference this service makes to the lives of those who need it. It’s so much more than just somewhere people can go to get food. It is a warm and friendly environment, where people feel safe and supported when they need a little bit of extra help. What an asset to the community”Hannah S
