You can make a donation: A typical food parcel now costs around £20. A regular gift of £10 or £20 per month would help us to meet those costs and change lives. You can make a one-off donation, or a regular monthly contribution through Local Giving, which also provides the opportunity to gift aid your donation. Can you be a real community star and become a Food Drop In fundraiser?
With the summer holidays coming up we expect to see even more people coming to us for help. Children will no longer be in school and family budgets will be even more stretched. This week we saw a big jump in the numbers coming to us for help – 162 individuals and families! We ran out of quite a few essentials.
Over the summer months could you help us by holding a fundraising event?
Lots of people have done that for us since we opened. It could be anything at all – something fun that you enjoy but with the added benefit of raising money for us. Last year the Three Valleys Gospel Choir raised £500 byholding a craft fair. The Prince’s Trust Todmorden raised £100 from their sponsored walk and the Hebden Bridge Learning Community raised £175 by selling cakes. These are just some examples.
There are lots of things people can do – either as part of a group or as an individual.
Host an afternoon tea/ coffee morning
Bake or book sale
Sponsored cycle/ swim or walk
A dinner party – pick a theme and pay what you can
A danceathon – who can last the longest
A car wash
A head or beard shave
A sponsored silence
A games night
And so on…..
People can set up their own fundraising page on our Localgiving donations page if they wish.
